Ahmad Al-Hajjar currently serves as Lebanon’s Minister of Interior and Municipalities. He is a retired brigadier general with an extensive career spanning over 30 years in the fields of national security, strategic planning, and police reform. Throughout his career, Al-Hajjar has played a pivotal role in modernizing Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces, introducing critical improvements in training, operations, and organizational efficiency. He holds advanced academic degrees from prestigious institutions in France and the United Kingdom, including a master’s degree in law and security policy and postgraduate studies in criminal justice and police management. His leadership has been instrumental in launching major initiatives such as police reform programs, digital transformation projects funded by the European Union, and collaborative educational partnerships to enhance the professional development of security officers. For his outstanding service, Al-Hajjar has received numerous national honors and medals, recognizing his dedication to strengthening Lebanon’s internal security and public safety infrastructure.

Ahmad Al-Hajjar served as Director of the ISF Training Institute and a member of the ISF Command Council from 2014 to 2022.
